Reverend David Lampard B.A.

Our current minister is the Rev. David Lampard who began his ministry here in May 2014.  David is originally from Sheffield.  He worked for Sheffield Newspapers until 1996 when he left to go to Bible College at Mattersey Hall.  After graduating in 1999 he spent 14 years in the South Wales valleys where he pastored two churches – West End Congregational Church in Ebbw Vale (2002-2014) and Saron Congregational Church in Tredegar (2012-2014).  He also worked full-time for Gwent Police from 2001 to 2012 during his time in Wales as a Station Enquiry Officer.

David was formerly a member of Mosborough Methodist Church in Sheffield from 1980 to 1990 before joining the Hope of Sheffield Church (now Hope City Church) and later Elim Church, Mosborough.  After becoming the minister at West End Church in Ebbw Vale he was accepted on to the Role of Ministers at the May Assembly of the Congregational Federation in Swansea in 2007.

David led the successful Christian Supporters Group of the Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey Team during the 1990’s and was also the treasurer of the Blades Christian Supporters Group (Sheffield United FC).

Since becoming a Christian in 1980 David’s heartfelt desire is to see Church revival and growth.  His favourite scripture which has meant so much to him from the outset of his faith is from Proverbs chapter 3 and verses 5 and 6 – “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  Acknowledge Him in all of your ways and He will make your paths straight.”
